Pragmatic Yankee

There’s something in the air.
I can rarely justify why the little pieces of fluff I pick up point me towards something, but it happens sometimes - I spot a trend. But it’s not really a trend, it’s a meaning. And more likely, it’s my pattern recognition subsystem kicking in with my subconscious pointing ME in a direction, not the universe moving a particular way (I’m switching streams, the river didn’t just reverse itself).

WTF am I talking about?

DIY is leading to returning to values, but of course in a post-post-modern way.

How else would I explain the strange parallels between this:

These are two guys who i’ve read off an on, agreed and disagreed with, etc, but always respected the sheer volume of stuff they were doing. I’ve never been very good at getting off my ass so they’ve been, uh, of interest. But as far as i can tell, they don’t know each other or have any real similarities aside from the carbon based thing.

Now, however, they both seem, in different ways, to be saying - time to follow that thing, to simplify. I have no doubt they’ll still be doing more than I do, but they’re both doing something I’ve just started struggling with, at least, in my opinion - defining and focusing on what they value.
