Want.
I've been pretty skeptical about, what would you call it, 'immersive' computing? However, seeing this (clearly staged) demo, had me thinking about spatial relationship to data. Pehaps I've spent too long forward focused, screen eyed and barely physical, coupled with taking Taekwondo (no kidding) and raking leaves, being OUTSIDE and using senses that had lain dormant… (or semi-senses: peripheral vision, smell, ambient aural, touch… amazing how disintermediated I'd let my link to the world become)… has tiggered something. In any event, I can start to see vague outlines of the value in immersion. Requires, of course, a lot of raw computing and smart computing to create datascapes that mimic 'real world': data that stays in the periphery but alerts, like the scent of smoke or growing sound of approaching traffic (buffalo? mastadon?).
In any event - I want to play with this.
